    Job Description

    ** Primary Purpose** ****

    This position is responsible for manual welding of high-quality parts, subassemblies, and finished product in a manufacturing environment. Weldments vary in type, size, and construction.

    ** Essential Function and Responsibilities**

    • Set-up and manually MIG weld using Lincoln and Miller Welders.
    • Produces parts per print and labor standards to achieve production goals.
    • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure the correct bead size, length, and location for each weldment.
    • Repairs bad welds.
    • Metal finish weldments to remove any burrs, scratches, ink, or weld spatter.
    • Perform 1st piece inspections verifying weldment is per print.
    • Maintains a clean, organized work area to support 5S initiative, personal and environment safety goals, and accomplish quality production.
    • Follows safety regulations and observes environment to ensure safe working conditions are present and corrects issues that need attention.
    • Participates in cross-training throughout welding department and demonstrates an interest and flexibility in learning and working with others. Communicates with co-workers to maintain required production line flow.
    • Operates saws, ironworker, and drill presses.
    • May perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Preferred: 2 years of experience welding in a manufacturing industry or equivalent ****

    • Ability to read inspection equipment; ex: tape measure, protractor, and square.

    • Ability to read and understand blueprints, work instructions and fixture information.

    Physical Demands and Working Environment:

    • Ability to lift and move parts up to 75lbs with the assistance of an overhead crane.
    • The ability to stand for 9-10 hours daily to perform work duties.
    • Ability to operate a forklift.
