    Title: Welder

    Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

    Salary: $18-$20/hr for entry-level with certification; experienced welders can earn $30+/hr

    Welder Role:

    This role is responsible for creating quality welds and assisting with assembly in a custom manufacturing environment, contributing to the production of industrial conveyors.

    Welder Responsibilities:

    • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts and create quality welds according to weld symbols.
    • Inspect welds for accuracy and assess welded surfaces, structures, and components for errors.
    • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions, primarily using MIG welding with occasional stainless steel involvement.
    • Work with 1108, 1040 carbon steel, structural and sheets.
    • Perform assembly of components and belt assembly.
    • Follow strict safety regulations, such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
    • Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature, and change wire and gas tanks as needed.

    Welder Reporting Relationships:

    This position reports to the Belt Department Team Leader and then the Shop Supervisor. No direct reports.

    About You:

    • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
    • Valid welding certificate from an accredited institution is preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a welder is preferred but open to fairly green candidates looking for training.
    • Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.
    • Outstanding attention to detail.
    • Comfortable in a smaller company environment and being flexible with cross-training.
    • Prior experience with mechanical assembly or press brake operation is a plus.

    Additional Information:

    The interview process includes an interview with the shop supervisor and a weld test. Background checks and drug tests are conducted. The company offers a good benefit program including health insurance, group life policy, short-term disability, 401k with a match, and 11 paid holidays. One week of vacation is offered after 90 days. There is a 90-day waiting period for health insurance and six months for the 401k plan.
