****Job Summary – 1st Shift Welder
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our team on 1st shift. This position is responsible for welding structural steel components according to blueprints and specifications while ensuring high-quality workmanship and safe work practices. The ideal candidate has strong welding skills, can accurately interpret drawings and weld symbols, and takes pride in producing quality work.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
- Weld structural steel components according to specifications and quality standards
- Perform fit-up of parts within required tolerances before welding
- Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and overall quality
- Grind, clean, and prepare materials before and after welding
- Use hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and torches
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed to move materials safely
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Work overtime as needed to meet production schedules
Qualifications
- Previous welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
- Knowledge of structural steel and welding techniques
- Experience performing fit-up and producing quality welds
- Ability to safely operate welding equipment, hand tools, and material handling equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to lift, move, and position materials as required throughout the workday
