This is a great opportunity to be a part of a new business that is centered around people care, earth care, and fair share. We are looking someone who excels in communication and has had previous experience with writing and marketing as their job. You will be expected to maintain the editorial integrity and ensure the stylistic consistency throughout the various online platforms we will be posting on. Another part of this internship is the social media marketing aspect, which involves maintaining consistent Instagram and Facebook campaigns to attract new followers. Other tasks may include reaching out to local press for coverage, helping with email newsletters, finding and reaching out to potential collaborators, and other marketing tasks. About Us The Well Cafe is a place for people to come together for herbal drinks, food, kava, and tea in North Oakland. We believe deeply that food is medicine and are working to re-ignite the collective wisdom of our ancestors and to put this traditional knowledge back in the hands of the people. We do this by serving unique and delicious drinks and food, working with small local farmers, chefs and herbalists, hosting educational events and workshops, and offering meals at affordable prices. The Well Cafe has been closed since December 2017 and is now under new ownership and will reopen on August 1st, 2018. Primary Responsibilities: * Write clear, concise, compelling and grammatically correct articles for various mediums - 4 articles per week

• Research competitors and develop effective writing voice and marketing strategy * Use SEO principles to maximize copys reach * Ability to produce consistently compelling content * Proofread and edit guest bloggers * Maintain social media accounts and campaigns * Other relevant marketing tasks Qualifications: * An initial understanding of herbs, health foods, or community food movements * Excellent interpersonal and communications skills * Minimum of 1 year of experience in writing, editing and/or publishing * Minimum of 1 year of experience in social media and/or marketing * Show capacity to write professionally * Familiarity with commonly used style guides, and understand different language styles that appeal to various target markets * Impeccable grammar and punctuation skills * Ability to quickly research a topic and produce relevant content while maintaining the subject's voice and remaining aware of the brand image * Ability to think critically and adapt quickly in a flexible environment * Ability to manage multiple and shifting deadlines, and prioritization of the same * Self-motivated and strong organizational skills, ability to work on multiple projects concurrently * An innovative mind that can think out-of-the-box and help create new content and ideas Job Types: Part-time, Internship Hours: We are seeking someone to join us part-time (10-15 hours a week, negotiable) as soon as possible.
