    Job Summary:

    The Accounting Clerk will provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department under Accounting Manager’s supervisions. This position handles check deposits and returned checks, coordinates with various departments to update check status in claims processing system. Also, to complete assigned jobs professionally and diligently with strong computer skills and a thorough understanding of accounting and financial principles.

    Key Functions/Responsibilities:

    · Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department

    · Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records

    · Enter void and check reissues in claims processing system as well as third party banking system

    · Assist with ESI billings

    · Download corporate credit card charges from third party banking website

    · Handle check deposits and returned checks,

    · Coordinate with internal and external parties to take further actions on returned mails

    · Record bank deposits using cash ledger module in accounting system

    · Assist with account reconciliations

    · Assist with annual Unclaimed Property filings

    · Maintain accounts payable documentation

    · Support NH Medicare Advantage product as it relates to posting premium payments received

    · Review submitted business expense reports and summarize for Payroll Department reimbursement

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business required

    Experience:

    · Accounting experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or Accounting Clerk

    · Insurance/healthcare experience preferred

    Competencies, Skills, and Attributes :

    · Fundamental knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

    · 1-2 years of accounting experience in Accounting

    · High proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Systems.

    · Detail oriented, focus on accuracy.

    · Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.

    · Excellent verbal and communication skills.

    · Experience in or knowledge of managed care or health care financial systems preferred.

    · Willingness and ability to perform day-to-day fiscal activities at all levels.

    · Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, work accurately, meet deadlines.

    · Excellent interpersonal skills required to develop and maintain effective working relationships across all levels within the organization is of the essence of this position.

    · Ability to work both independently and as part of team.

    · Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage modest projects successfully.

    · Detail-oriented and reliable to complete assign duties diligently

    Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

    · Remote workforce with weekly in-person visits to corporate office
