Job Summary
The Manager of Community Engagement is dedicated to building community presence and preference for WellSense in support of business development programs and the Plan through participation in outreach and sales activities in our service area. The Manager manages the Community Engagement Representatives and sales team in his/her particular area(s). The role helps plan and coordinate team efforts and provides direction to team members in planning and executing activities as well as assisting with tracking and reporting of team efforts. The manager will provide leadership, training and direction to community outreach and sales team to assure effective coordination and cooperation in support of business objectives and meeting sales goals. The role provides education and support information on WellSense product lines in their particular area(s). In addition, the manager will be responsible for reporting and analytics to support development of performance management plans and metrics for both the team and department.

Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Build and execute a proactive strategic community engagement strategy for the organization aligned around the mission, vision and goals
- Produces reports to monitor team metrics
- Analyzes performance data to identify opportunities to improve processes, performance and training
- Identifies and oversees regional sales and Community Engagement teams’ participation in large-scale community events
- Ability to network with community resources and use marketing channels to increase brand recognition, expand referral circles and grow membership
- Gathers information from team members on competitor activity and shares with appropriate marketing personnel
- Identifies and makes recommendation for participation in regional events, activities, and sponsorships
- Supports Director in corporate sponsorship event planning and execution
- Seeks to consistently exceed standards and sales goals for developing/participating in WellSense outreach activities, including community meetings and events, general outreach activities, provider meetings and events, member outreach activities and participation in targeted coalition efforts
- Strategically networks to generate leads and build relationships; attends meetings as beneficial with team reps to offer support and represent BMCHP/Well Sense
- Ability to develop relationships with community organizations, community health centers and providers to assure sales goals are met
- Assure compliance and adherence to Medicare and Medicaid enrollment and marketing policies and procedures
- Communicates with potential members regarding eligibility requirements and steps required to enroll
- Participates as required in process for helping prospective members to apply for WellSense products
- Consistently seeks out opportunities for sales team to present to groups about product line benefits
- Meets regularly with and coaches representatives related to achievement of metrics
- Serves as team liaison to marketing and organization leadership to inform on regional team activities as well as questions or concerns
- Gathers, coordinates, and produces reports to meet information needs to make decisions and lead growth and investment
- Onboards new team members and ensures that team is properly trained and licensed; assists with sales team training, as needed
- Works with Community Engagement reps and sales team to develop and achieve individual goals; conducts performance reviews of reps
- Other duties as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Social Work or related field
- A minimum of five years of experience in community relations, outreach and/or organizing, or related experience such as marketing and communications
- At least 2 years leading and developing team
- Health insurance experience preferred; knowledge of public-interest healthcare, Medicaid and low-income/underserved populations beneficial
- Experience with budget and vendor management
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Social Work or related field
Experience Required
- A minimum of five years of experience in community relations, outreach and/or organizing, or related experience such as marketing and communications
- At least 2 years leading and developing team
- Health insurance experience preferred; knowledge of public-interest healthcare, Medicaid and low-income/underserved populations beneficial

License, Certification and Registration
- Based on business need may to need to obtain the Massachusetts individual health producer license
- Regular and reliable attendance at community events is an essential function of the position
- Ability to work extra hours during peak periods
- Ability to lift boxes of materials up to 25 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation for work throughout our entire service area
