Under general supervision, provides oncologic genetic counseling to high risk patients and their families.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1 In cooperation with the physician, provides oncologic genetic counseling to high risk patients and their families.
2 Investigates family history, interprets information concerning genetic disorders, explains risks inherent to discovered genetic abnormalities and pedigree analysis.
3 Provides crisis intervention regarding results of genetic testing.
4 Serves as an educational resource on genetics and genetic counseling.

MINIMUM FIELD OF EXPERTISE:
Certified by American Board of Medical Genetics or American Board of Genetic Counseling; Licensed to practice genetic counseling in Pennsylvania
