After School Program Coordinator - York After School - Full-time, Day/Eve
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator After School Programs oversees day-to-day therapeutic and program activities of the child and adolescent after-school program. Ensures program structure and clinical development by providing patients in the program with recreational, educational, vocational, and therapeutic activities and developing programming and milieu management. Assumes administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Program Manager for After-School as directed by the Program Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 Assists in monitoring admissions to ensure clinical appropriateness and efficient provision of services. 2 Works in the milieu modeling clinical interventions, ensuring program structure, monitoring therapeutic groups, providing on-going feedback and support to staff, and being available for 1:1 crisis support. 3 Responsible for ongoing staff and program development ensuring that structures are in place that implement evidence based and best practice standards. 4 Evaluates patients clinical progression and aftercare planning and appropriateness for continued treatment or discharge. 5 Facilitates coordination of treatment team, collaboration of community agencies and investigates the availability of alternative community resources. 6 Refines and evaluates program processes. 7 Ensures the promotion of program services. 8 Implements policies and procedures and maintains all safety and the Joint Commission Standards. 9 Orients new personnel, as directed by Program Manager. 10 Assists with performance improvement issues and program development assignments as directed by the Program Manager. 11 Collaborates daily with Program Manager. 12 Reserves necessary equipment. 13 Responsible for nightly structure and maintaining a clinically appropriate milieu. 14 Assigns daily and weekly work to program staff. 15 Oversees the safety and clean-up, including lock-up at the end of the shift. 16 Arranges and prepares daily meals and snacks for program patients. 17 Plans and implements ongoing parent communication and program involvement. 18 Coordinates program specials and rewards to motivate clients 19 Coordinates daily medication schedule for program clients 20 Maintains awareness of program budget and effectively schedule staff and monitor staff to achieve budget margins. 21 Provides services as governed by individual treatment plans. 22 Develops and maintains working relationship with program patients, families, external providers, and other hospital dept. 23 Maintains awareness of significant patient history, present status, and specific concerns which may exist. 24 Develops and leads assigned activities according to program schedule and is available to assist with van runs. 25 Effectively utilizes leadership/teaching/counseling techniques to gain program patients participation. 26 Formulates and implements treatment plans. 27 Demonstrates understanding of special needs and ability to care for children and adolescents. 28 Completes and provides accurate program documentation and adequate feedback for effective treatment. 29 Provides appropriate documentation in accordance with established standards. 30 Responds promptly and assists in management of crisis providing 1:1 intervention as needed and following policy and procedure for cases of eminent risk. 31 Recognizes when unsafe or non-therapeutic conditions are developing or exist and maintains communication with team members. 32 Collaborates with team members to implement proper interventions in unsafe or non-therapeutic conditions and reports according to policy. 33 Assists in providing routine care in conjunction with treatment goals developed, as assigned by director. 34 Completes required annual safety education modules and ensures that staff are also in compliance. 35 Supervises clients with prescribed medications brought from home to take as scheduled. 36 Provides additional coverage for WellSpan Philhaven's continuum of child/adolescent service line as needed.

Required Experience
One year of experience in children’s behavioral healthcare
A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license is required and WellSpan Philhaven driving privileges must be maintained during employment.
A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field required
