  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the program director and in concert with other treatment team members, this staff manages the milieu, conducts individual, family, and group therapeutic interventions, performs primary case contact and management with family members and community agencies, and performs documentation related to caring for children and adolescents with mental health issues.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1 Meets on a 1:1 basis with youth as needed

    2 Orients clients to the specific program

    3 Monitors and assesses daily functioning, progress, and behavior changes

    4 Completes assessments and interagency meetings as needed.

    5 Communicates client progress during weekly treatment team meetings

    6 Plans appropriate aftercare

    7 Completes progress notes, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and discharge summaries

    8 Maintains safe and therapeutic environment for clients and staff as needed and according to established standards

    9 Completes required medication training

    10 Transports clients safely

    11 Observes and responds to adverse drug reactions according to established procedures

     

     

    Required Skills

    • A bachelor’s degree in a mental health related field required.
    • A minimum of two years on the job experience working with children and/or adolescents usually necessary to acquire and effectively use knowledge of patient behaviors, knowledge of patient care procedures, and apply these while working with child and adolescent patient populations
    • Possesses a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license necessary to transport patients.
