    EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN (EMT-B)

     

    PART TIME - 8 HOURS BIWEEKLY - DAY SHIFT

     

     

     

    GENERAL SUMMARY: 

     

    Under the general supervision of the Clinical Leader, responds to emergency calls and performs a variety of functions related to patients in accordance with appropriate rules, regulations and protocols.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performs triage functions.
    • Responds to emergency calls, observes safety policies and operates an emergency vehicle with due regard for others.
    • Checks patient's vital signs.
    • Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
    • Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment.

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license in current state of residence.  Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
    • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) / Emergency Medical Services Vehicle Operator Course (EMSVC)
    • Current Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) Certification in PA
    • National Incident Management System (NIMS) Training - 100, 200, 700 & 800
    • Hazmat Awareness
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • FBI/Act 73 Child Abuse Clearance
    • PA Child Line Child Abuse Clearance
    • PA Criminal Record Check

    Required Experience

     

    • 1 Year Minimum
