FELLOWSHIP DIRECTOR – SPORTS MEDICINE
Join WellSpan Medical Education as the next Director of our Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. In this position you will provide leadership to our team of ten faculty members. Our program is ACGME accredited and offer two fellowship positions. This position requires completion of an accredited Sports Medicine Fellowship program, and a desire to also become a member of either our Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine Residency faculty teams. Our staff enjoys providing Sports Medicine services to WellSpan Urgent Orthopedics, the local York Revolutions baseball team, and local college/high school sports teams.
POSITION DETAILS
- Direct all activities related to the sports medicine fellowship including ACGME accreditation, interviewing, recruitment, including involvement with NRMP:
- Be actively involved in academic pursuits, inclusive of independent research, lecturing, and written publications
- Evaluate fellows multiple times during the fellowship year; and assist in the education of the fellow(s) throughout the academic year.
- Involvement in marketing of sports medicine product to local physicians and the communities they serve.
- Providing accurate interpretation of the ACGME’s Institutional Requirements.
- Participation in evening and weekend work in conjunction with the fellowship/fellows for coverage of sporting events and training rooms. The FPD needs to accept a heavy time commitment, sometimes exceeding normal work hours, for meeting management, event coverage, travel and attendance.
- Facilitating and supervising activities related to accreditation standards, and the institutional accreditation process.
- Participate in call and patient care as deemed appropriate by the Family Medicine Residency Program Director.
