Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Women's Imaging Center - York - PRN
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Team Leader, performs a variety of routine and advanced clinical diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures at an intermediate to beginning specialist skills and knowledge level.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 Performs diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures. Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for administration to patients. Determines appropriate dosage required based on study to be performed. 2 Obtains patient history, reviews patient condition and administers accurate radiopharmaceutical dosage following established departmental procedures. Monitors patient during procedure and reports any unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel. 3 Introduces and demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and research findings to staff. 4 Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. 5 Develops film including evaluating film for technical quality. 6 Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations. 7 Positions and transfers patients safely and comfortably and explains basic procedure. 8 Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures. 9 Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
