You must live in the WellSpan Health service area to be considered for this position.  This position will work from home but also requires on site attendance at meetings and for training throughout the year.

This is a part time opportunity.  Every Saturday and Sunday with varied hours as late as 7:30 pm.  Some hours during the week will also be incorporated into the schedule.

General Summary: Under general supervision, performs secondary triage screening to determine appropriate avenue for care of patients. Ensures care of patient by appropriate provider. Monitors access to care. Educates patients and families in home care techniques and the responsibilities of managed care. Duties and Responsibilities: The following are essential job accountabilities: 1 Obtains history and gathers triage information to determine appropriate avenue for care. 2 Verifies patient insurance eligibility and identifies primary care physician. 3 Relays triage information and facilitates communication between the provider and the patient concerning patient disposition. 4 Based on assessment, assists physician to determine appropriate disposition. 5 Assists in the management of patient utilization of health care system and provides patient education relative to health care needs, use of community resources and responsibilities of membership in managed care. 6 Provides telephone advice according to established guidelines and protocols. Monitors compliance and evaluates effectiveness of home treatment instructions. 7 Develops telephone triage guidelines as needed. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Required Skills

RN license in Pennsylvania

BSN preferred

Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette

Required Experience

At least 3 years of recent experience in acute care with focus on critical care, ED or med/surg
