Atrium Cafe Cook - York Hospital - PT (Day/Evening)
General Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Cafe Services Team Leader, prepares and cooks a variety of foods; cleans kitchen equipment and food preparation areas; restocks and properly stores foodstuffs; maintains required levels of sanitation. Interacts with the public in a cheerful, courteous, customer-oriented and helpful manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1 Prepares, seasons and cooks food.
2 Operates various equipment including slicer, induction cookers and panini press.
3 Reviews menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.
4 Takes and prepares customers order in an attractive culinary presentation.
5 Ensures that required HACCP guidelines are maintained throughout the food preparation process.
6 Cleans the kitchen area and cooking utensils. Assist in cleaning equipment, tears down frozen dessert machine.
7 Ensures all dishes and utensils are clean.
8 Alerts supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Detects and reports spoiled or
unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment or other unusual conditions. Assist in placing orders as needed.
