LABORIST WITH RESIDENCY TEACHING RESPONSIBILITY

WellSpan Health, a sophisticated medical community in south central Pennsylvania, is seeking a seasoned Laborist to join an innovative and well-respected group.  WellSpan is a large, fully integrated system and tertiary care center with a collaborative culture.    

 SUMMARY:

• Flexible scheduling (24-hour shifts)

• Full time, residency core faculty employed position teaching, evaluating, and providing formative feedback to residents

• New physician will join team of well-tenured, core faculty members

• The OB/GYN residency has 16 residents, with ongoing ACGME accreditation, established over 70 years ago

• Seeking candidate with 5+ years of Ob/Gyn and residency education experience

• Willingness to perform/teach VBAC and operative vaginal delivery is required (forceps experience preferred).

• Support residency educational mission with lectures, participation in quality projects and resident research mentoring

• Laborist role involves precepting resident service, performing surgery with residents, and providing backup for other groups as needed

• Experience with a high risk, ethnically diverse patient population preferred

• Deliveries done at York Hospital with a Level IIIB NICU

• York Hospital is a high-risk transport center

• Higher risk deliveries are managed in coordination with MFM

• Mother and Infant Center includes a 7-room perinatal diagnostic suite, 12 LDRPs, a 20-bed maternity unit, 2-bed extended labor suite, 3 C-section rooms, and the latest computer technology

• Must be Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology
