  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Under the general supervision of the Lancaster Diversion Director, provides consistent structure and support for the Diversion program residents within program guidelines and builds rapport by fostering a "home-like" atmosphere.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1 Provides direct care to residents under the guidance of the individual service plans.

    2 Develops therapeutic relationships with residents by using effective interpersonal skills.

    3 Intervenes to promote milieu safety and security in a manner consistent with ethical and legal guidelines.

    4 Instructs and assists residents with daily living skills including self-care, housekeeping, and other related tasks.

    5 Provides resources for seeking employment opportunities.

    6 Monitors and documents resident behavior, program participation, and activities.

    7 Completes required training for Lancaster Diversion medication procedures.

    8 Supervises the implementation of resident daily schedules.

    9 Records resident compliance with treatment according to outlined procedures and documents any changes in resident response to treatment or care.

    10 Preserves a consistent, therapeutic, safe and clean environment in the milieu.

    11 Monitors and documents according to outlined procedures any crisis situations, incidents, unsafe conditions, changes or any other circumstances which compromise the safety and quality performance within the milieu and collaborates with the treatment team to implement prompt and therapeutic interventions.

    12 Knows and understands program specific policies and guidelines and uses this knowledge to ensure and document that all policies and procedures are followed during a given shift regarding milieu safety, medication dispensing, cleanliness, crisis management, facility maintenance, and unusual incidents.

     

    Required Skills

    A bachelor’s degree and one year’s experience in a mental health related position or extensive mental health experience of at least three years is required.

     

    Must have valid driver’s license and qualify for WellSpan Philhaven driving privileges.  Must obtain PA drivers’ license in accordance with PA laws if license upon hire is out-of-state.
