Manager-Value Analysis - Full Time - WellSpan Supply Chain Services
GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision, develops, leads and enforces standardized processes for on-going proactive identification and prioritization of cost savings efforts. Applies and shares knowledge of Value Analysis Team (VAT) processes and the supplier marketplace to develop and plan the implementation of opportunities to reduce cost while maintaining or improving patient outcomes and staff satisfaction. Builds and maintains a supportive relationship with VAT leaders, medical, supply chain and clinical staff to ensure consensus on decision making processes of initiatives. Leads material resource selection, standardization and utilization initiatives. Promotes and utilizes Value Analysis in the decision making process for the selection and sourcing of supplies and suppliers. Coordinates and monitors the documentation of product initiatives and oversees the evaluation and implementation of approved initiatives. Interfaces with finance representatives to assure fiscal impact is considered. Supports the VAT teams and project leaders in identifying needed resources, ensuring impacts on current policies and practices are understood and addressed, identifying and coordinating communications and educational needs with suppliers and user-departments. Collaborates with Supply Chain leadership and staff to ensure purchasing and logistics needs are adequately planned and addressed. Tracks and communicates results, analyzes the variance in actual usage and costs against predicted-expensed outcomes and communicates the determination and resolution of issues effecting achievement of established objectives to appropriate supply chain leadership and staff. Seeks consensus and approval in accordance with established procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are essential job accountabilities: 1 Directs and leads the Systems Value Analysis Program, Value Analysis Team, support staff and related processes. 2 Leads the development and focus on patient outcomes when evaluating new and existing products, equipment and services, in line with WellSpans quality and safety objectives. 3 Plays an integral role in the development and ongoing improvement of WellSpans new product review and approval process. 4 Oversees WellSpans vendor management protocols, to include WellSpans vendor policy and administration oversight of our vendor credentialing program. 5 Responsible for the success of WellSpans product recall program for supply chain. 6 Ensures that all products, services and equipment meet regulatory requirements and are safe for use on patients. This includes review of FDA Maude reports, FDA clearances, joint commission standards and other relevant regulatory requirements. 7 Identifies and leads implementation of opportunities to reduce variation in supplies and equipment, in support of creating more standards of practice for patient care. 8 Through research, uses unbiased clinical evidence to support changes in product selection and utilization. 9 Interacts frequently with user-departments to understand and address issues and barriers to improve supply cost management through value analysis initiatives. 10 Leads VAT processes to meet organization objectives. 11 Coordinates and oversees presentation of VAT performance data to the Executive sponsor of the VATs and to other leaders at the VASC (Value Analysis Steering Committee) level. 12 Contributes to and is an active participant towards the success of the WellSpan Supply Chain 13 Facilitates communications with personnel in Supply Chain and the organization, to ensure a balance between project scope, expected deliverables, timelines and available resources. 14 Supports VAT leaders and Contract Administrators efforts to maximize cost savings through standardization and improved utilization of supplies, including physician preference items, across the System through the Value Analysis process. 15 Works directly with physician leadership to build and maintain their support of VAT/Supply Chain Management cost reduction and utilization efforts. 16 Collaborates with VAT leaders and Contract Administrators to communicate with Service Line Leaders and appropriate end users to ensure appropriate educational needs are addressed relating to changes in supplies and practice. 17 Maintains confidentiality of patient and financial information. 18 Maintains regular contact with all staff levels: clinical, administrative, professional, and support. 19 Works with Director of Supply Chain to ensure smooth transition of MAPC initiatives into the System VAT process.
