Personnel in this position are expected to complete a 12 to 16-month internship program to be considered as a candidate for an extern-level position in their department area of interest, or another position on the IT team. This is a supervised role responsible for identifying growth and development of the student, as well as creating innovative solutions to our department. This role serves as an analytical/functional specialist and works independently with guidance in group activities, projects and events. This role is instrumental in understanding the fundamental basics of healthcare IT with its core curriculum, building of their professional style and creating a network foundation for future growth. This role will work with seven IT areas, six fundamental departments for development and growth, and the seventh department as their career focus with the intent to further expand their knowledge, profession al growth and skillset, all the areas in a 12 to 16-month period.Qualifications100% Remote Required Minimum Education: Enrolled in college in their 4th or 6th year of their Bachelors or Masters Degree in Information Technology and/or health information related degrees with a minimum of 70% of credit hours completed for undergraduate degreesRequired Minimum Certification:noneRequired Minimum Experience:noneRequired Minimum Skills: As a member of the Information Technology (IT) Customer Services group, the IT Student intern’s responsibilities include:Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint Self-starter with proven abilities in organizational, conceptual, and logical problem solvingAbility to manage assignments that are of diverse scope and complexity and require initiative and judgementEnroll in basic principles of each IT areas with the department’s sponsoring manager every 30 daysEffective phone email and excellent communication skills; excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skillsProvide support to certain IT department while developing knowledge by shadowing or hands on troubleshooting with limited accessCapable of working independently and with groupsContribute ideas, creative thinking and suggestion with team membersFlexibility to work in different departments based on needWe’d like to invite you on a career journey like no other!
