    PURCHASING MANAGER

    JOB DESCRIPTION  The primary role of the Purchasing Manager is management of supply, equipment and service procurement activities, contract management, and request for proposal functions initially under the direction of the Sr. Directors of Operations and in conjunction with finance. The Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a formulary of supplies and equipment that support company-wide urgent care operations; ensuring those supplies and equipment are not only the best quality but also at the most competitive price and contract term for the organization.

    A successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal, communication and critical thinking skills. Must demonstrate sound judgement in decision making and the ability to drive results. The role reports directly to the Corporate Controller with significant interactions with key field leaders. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: 

    • Directs, organizes, and manages purchasing. Responsible for processing purchase orders for urgent care facilities. Will have extensive contact with suppliers, field operations and finance department.
    • With assistance from operations and clinical leadership, seek high quality products at competitive pricing, obtain quotes from vendors, and negotiate with suppliers for lowest price, bulk order discounts and rebates.
    • Monitor, maintain and track inventory use to establish center par levels.
    • Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables. Assists in sourcing alternative products where applicable.
    • Order appropriate level of supplies and equipment for new centers, partnering with field operations to ensure timely delivery. Work with supply vendors to kit orders in advance for effective set up.
    • Prepares and presents market conditions and supply cost reports.
    • Supports the process for purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
    • Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
    • Reporting of purchasing metrics/KPIs on a predetermined schedule.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS: 

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Clinical support/assistant experience in urgent care or primary care strongly preferred, but not required
    • Training or experience in sourcing, vendor management, inventory control, accounting practices and contract negotiations.
    • Experience in medical purchasing.
    • Competency in MS Office, databases and reporting software.
    • Well organized, focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Good verbal and written communications skills.
    • Self-starter, able to work independently as well as with others.
