WELLINGTON MANAGEMENT Wellington Management offers comprehensive investment management capabilities that span nearly all segments of the global capital markets. Our investment solutions, tailored to the unique return and risk objectives of institutional clients in more than 60 countries, draw on a robust body of proprietary research and a collaborative culture that encourages independent thought and healthy debate. As a private partnership, we believe our ownership structure fosters a long-term view that aligns our perspectives with those of our clients. We are transitioning to a hybrid work environment where both remote work and the office play a critical role. Our vision is a future where all employees are empowered to work flexibly to drive the best outcomes for our clients. Flexible work is a mindset and a core value. Our employees are encouraged to work remotely two days a week as a standard practice and will have flexibility in terms of working hours. THE OPPORTUNITY The Pre-MBA Summer Internship is available to incoming first-year MBA students who are interested in learning more about a career in investing. During this four-week internship, you will have the opportunity to experience the unique investment culture within Wellington, learn more about the role of an investment analyst, and build fundamental research skills. The internship experience, while heavily oriented toward mentorship and development of core investment skills, culminates with presentation of a specific research recommendation to a group of tenured investors across Wellington. Following the program, interns should anticipate ongoing interaction with Wellington advisors and mentors, as well as consideration for an offer to return for the formal internship program during the subsequent summer. THE POSITION As a Pre-MBA summer intern, you will have the opportunity to interact with and learn from a diverse group of investors, building skills across some of the following areas: • Leveraging industry specific resources to build technical knowledge • Formulating a fundamental understanding of the competitive, operational, financial, and regulatory dynamics affecting an industry • Preparing a report and presentation on a company or industry theme • Translating analysis into actionable investment ideas • Communicating investment theses to firm's investment professionals In addition to the project-based portion of the program, interns will find numerous benefits across the following areas. 1. Getting to know our firm Through our summer program and other forums, you will interact with and be exposed to seasoned investors throughout the Wellington organization. This exposure will help you build your network and discover what makes the Wellington experience unique. The internship will also offer exposure to our business networks (i.e. affinity groups). At Wellington we aspire to cultivate diversity of thought, diversity of culture and diversity of backgrounds, and our business networks are central to promoting that mission. 2. Immersion into the world of investing You will have the opportunity to develop and deepen your investment knowledge by conducting research, attending company management meetings, accessing the firm's proprietary research notes, and attending our daily investor Morning Meeting. 3. Mentorship and feedback You will receive training throughout the program to develop and grow your investment acumen and help to shape a potential career in investment management. This will be through a combination of group meetings with investors and in-house training sessions with continued support through strong mentorship. Pre-MBA Summer interns will partner with seasoned investors who will work alongside the Director of Early Career Investor Development to provide support and feedback throughout the process.
