Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer familiar with healthcare data and modern data technologies, while demonstrating strong database and application development skills.

Healthcare data will originate from sources primarily in the Payor world (e.g., medical claims, pharmacy claims, eligibility), and begin to include data from the Provider world (e.g., Explanation of Benefits, Person Health Records, EHR) over time. Healthcare data will take the form of legacy x-12 standards and move primarily into target data structures based on HL7 FHIR standards.

The technology stack includes Google Cloud Platform, CloudSQL, BigQuery, PostgresSQL, Mirth, Snaplogic, OpenEMPI, Looker, and Aidbox by Health Samurai. Most significant development will be done in a combination of Java, JSON, and PostgresSQL.

Data modeling skills are a plus.

Experience supporting data analytic environments a plus.

Experience supporting Master Data Management and producing data standards to maintain high quality data a plus.

In addition to the above skills, we are looking for a positive person with good communication skills and high intellect to help us solve problems with healthcare data transformation, analysis, storage, interoperability, and delivery.

This position will begin in contract mode and will include the option to convert to full-employment status with benefits longer term.
