    Purpose

    The Manufacturing Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safety of workers and visitors in the manufacturing facility. They patrol the facility to identify and report any potential safety hazards, such as spills, leaks, or faulty equipment. They also enforce safety policies and procedures and provide coaching to employees on safe work practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Walk the manufacturing facility to identify and report safety hazards.
    • Enforce safety policies and procedures.
    • Provide coaching to employees on safe work practices.
    • Resolve safety issues directly where feasible.
    • Log, assign, and communicate safety action items where required.
    • Assist in coordination of emergency training and drills.
    • Assist in coordination of safety training programs.
    • Participate on the emergency responder/ first aid team.
    • Participate in safety committees and meetings.
    • Participate in incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
    • Conduct safety inspections, checklists, and audits.
    • Communicate information, needs, and concerns within the department and to individuals in other departments, as needed.
    • Performs any other duties as assigned by the management.
    • Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and ensure the organization's ongoing compliance.
    • Conduct safety meetings to communicate important safety information and updates to employees.

    Preferred Qualifications :

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in welding, paint, fabrication environments is a plus.
    • Experience with Safe Start or Move Smart programs is a plus.
    • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements

    The work environment is production floor based. This role may be physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for long periods, lift objects more than 40 pounds with a team lift, and perform other physical tasks associated with manufacturing work. Additionally, roll may include exposure to noise, dust, and fumes, may also be required to work in hot or cold environments.

    Salary info:

    $22 - $30 / hr
