Job Description:
West Star Aviation is currently seeking a knowledgeable and responsive AOG (Aircraft on Ground) Mechanic to join our Grand Junction, Colorado team. In this dynamic role, you will provide immediate, on-location support to grounded aircraft, performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs to return aircraft to service efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to AOG events promptly, performing accurate diagnostics and repairs in the field.
Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
Upload maintenance work orders, service reports, and job completion details into the company system to close out AOG events properly—must be computer literate and detail-oriented.
Maintain thorough documentation of work performed, including logbook entries, parts usage, and corrective actions.
Utilize aircraft manuals, drawings, and OEM guidance to ensure accurate repairs and compliance.
Collaborate with customers, dispatchers, and internal teams to communicate status updates and job progress clearly.
Be prepared to travel with little notice, including weekends and holidays, depending on customer needs.
Maintain and operate company tools, equipment, and vehicles responsibly and professionally.
Aircraft Experience:
Candidates should be experienced with a wide range of business aviation aircraft across various categories, including but not limited to:
Light Jets: Phenom 300
Midsize Jets: Citation XLS/XLS+, Praetor 500, Citation Sovereign, Citation Latitude
Super-Midsize Jets: Citation Longitude, Challenger 350, Challenger 650, Citation Ascend
Large Jets: Falcon 2000EX
Ultra-Long Range Jets: Global 5000/5500, Global 6000, Global 7500
Qualifications:
Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience; AOG or field support experience preferred.
Familiarity with business aviation aircraft listed above is highly desirable.
Proficiency in maintenance software systems; must be able to document work electronically and navigate digital platforms with ease.
Strong troubleshooting abilities and a calm, solution-focused approach in time-sensitive situations.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
Flexibility to travel and work outside standard hours as required.
Work Environment:
Field-based environment with varying weather conditions and locations.
Physical demands include bending, climbing, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Travel required both locally and occasionally nationally, based on AOG assignments.
