    Family Medicine Attending / Faculty Development Fellowship

    Attending Physician / Clinical Skills:

    The fellow works as an attending physician at our FM clinic three half-days a week and is asked to identify one or two clinical areas that he/she wants to enhance during the fellowship. Fellow will also serve as attending on our Family Medicine Service for a minimum of six weeks.

    - Minimum 12 hours per week patient scheduled appointments (3 half-days per week)

    - Minimum 6 weeks per year attending Family Medicine Service

    Teaching Skills

    Seminars, with topic-specific goals and objectives and relevant readings, occur 1-2 times a month throughout the fellowship. Teaching skills, including hands-on observed precepting, are focused on in the first few months to permit prompt inclusion of the fellow into having his/her own half-day precepting slots four times a week. per week)

    - Minimum 8 hours per week precepting family medicine residents (2 half-days per week)

    - Minimum 4 hours per month presenting continuing medical education topics

    Administrative Skills

    Seminars on various relevant topics are augmented by having the fellow participate in our weekly faculty meetings, oversee an area of the curriculum, and participate in our Annual Program Review.

    - Minimum 16 hour per week (4 half-days per week)

    License and Certification Requirements:

    · IL Medical License

    · IL Controlled Substance License

    · DEA

    · Board Certified in Family Medicine or registered for testing date

    · BLS Certification

    · ACLS Certification

    · PALS Certification
