JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for all required external reporting and preparing internal forecasts and financial models used in the development of the company. Oversees Accounting and Fiscal Services, Admitting and Registration, Health Information Management, Patient Financial Services, Purchasing, and the Storeroom.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business; MBA preferred
- Ten years experience in finance and/or accounting
- Seven years management experience
- Excellent analytical ability and strategic planning skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
JOB DUTIES

- Develops and implements organization financial policies and procedures, and establishes internal controls to safeguard the assets of the organization.
- Develops financial tools to continue to assess productivity and performance margins and any opportunities for revenue enhancement or expense reductions.
- Develops, recommends, and updates financial models of current and future operations within the Hospital.
- Produces financial reports and monthly financial statements and presents to management staff.
- Reports financial reports to the Board of Governors.
- Compiles information and data necessary for tax reporting.
- Directs annual audit process and coordinates plans and schedules with external auditors. Generates financial statements for inclusion in audit report.
- Monitors the operations of the defined areas of management and provides direction; assists in problem resolution.
- Evaluates fiscal and budgetary performance in keeping with strategic direction of the organization and develops and maintains annual operating budget.
- Develops and creates new opportunities for program development in designated areas.
- Develops and motivates staff directors to function in a team-oriented, positive environment allowing for creativity, independence, and team spirit.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Continually monitors operations, programs, and physical properties. Initiates appropriate changes.
- Provides probationary and annual performance feedback and evaluation of direct reports. Initiates personnel actions in accordance with HR policies and organization philosophy.
- Represents the Hospital in groups or committees outside the organization to help understand and influence the Hospitals external environment as appropriate.
- Participates in or leads committees, focus groups, or task forces as defined.
- Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
