Westchester Tool Rentals offers a comprehensive tool & equipment rental and retail inventory while providing the best personalized customer service not only for municipalities and the big contractor but also for the homeowner and ‘do-it-yourselfer’. Family owned and operated since the founding in 1983, WTR has since expanded to include Party Line Tent Rentals, Road Runner Mobile Kitchens, and now a Peekskill location for WTR. We are seeking to fill a sales/customer service position at our Peekskill location. You would become part of an experienced team who is looking for a candidate who possesses knowledge of the diverse tools and machinery we offer as well as provide exceptional customer service. We are seeking Full Time and Part Time positions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use point of sale software system (Alert) to create and maintain our contracts and sales
• Help customers to solve their project needs
• Take initiative in all aspects of the job: if there appears to be a job, mess, problem or otherwise that could be solved, take it upon yourself to complete it
• Work collaboratively with the dispatcher, mechanics, back office and, of course, the customer in an effort to offer the best customer service we can provide
• Taking orders from customers and ability to recommend products and procedures where relevant
• Educating client on how to use machines and tools safely including demonstrations and over the phone or via email education
• Following up with customer inquiries and concerns, tracking inventory, and general office duties
• Maintaining equipment and inventory ensuring the warehouse is kept organized and clean

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• It is a very busy, diverse job; you need to be incredibly organized, personable, flexible and possess a willingness to put in the time to make the job work
• General knowledge of equipment and tools and a passion for learning about tools
• Effective communicator as role involves educating clients on inventory and machinery use but also coordinating with other location and other company departments in the provision of inventory and services
• Drug free work environment; all employees are subject to drug screening
• During the busy season we are very busy, Saturdays are a must.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of experience in rental business is a plus
• Strong sense of ethics, etiquette and tact
• Detail oriented with the ability to multitask
• Bilingual (Spanish & English) is a plus
