    Purpose of Position:

    The HR Generalist has the primary responsibility for assisting with all Human Resources functions for Westfield Egg Farm, including, but not limited to investigating compliance issues, employee relations, overseeing the payroll process, and administering benefit packages. The HR Generalist will be the face of HR to the employees at Westfield Egg Farm and it is imperative that they reflect the core values of Westfield.

    Essential Duties:

    · Assist with the recruiting and hiring process i.e., job listing, interview screening, hiring

    · Write job descriptions and post open positions online

    · Onboard employees and assist with initial and continuous training

    · Initiate annual and initial 60-day or 90-day reviews for every employee

    · Administer benefit packages and remain compliant

    · Keep track of all employee files

    · Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and HR policies

    · Work with management to keep the employee handbook updated and followed

    · Know future needs in the company and keep the funnel of potential hires filled

    · Answer payroll and benefit questions from the employees

    · Manage and resolve employee related issues as requested by Employee Relations Manager

    · All other duties as assignedPosition Requirements:

    · Related experience and/or training in HR related field.

    · Experience administering benefit packages is also preferred.

    · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

    · Complete support of and willing adherence to Westfield Egg Farm’s mission, vision and core values. Applicant must hold these standards as his/her own.

    Language Skills:

    · Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.

    · Ability to write reports, benefit policies, job descriptions, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures.

    · Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.

    Mathematical Skills:

    · Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages

    · Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra though the use of Excel sheets.

    Confidentiality:

    The HR Generalist will be privileged to information that should not be shared. The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of the HR Generalist.

    Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions:

    The HR Generalist will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. The incumbent may also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time. Westfield Egg Farm may be a busy facility, and the HR Generalist may have to manage several projects at one time. The incumbent may find the environment to be busy or noisy and will need excellent organizational and time/stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
