  • Responsibilities

    The clinic manager is responsible for the direct supervision of the clinical staff, provides for the planning and daily operations of the clinic. Responsible for the successful coordination of clinical department activities, appropriate scheduling of technicians as it relates to the demands of the clinic and of surgical suite case volumes. Develops and facilitates in-services and drills, guides new employees through orientation process, schedules and facilitates training, cross-training and continuing education of all clinical employees, motivates and leads staff, acts as liaison between clinical staff and all other departments, ensures staff is meeting all required job expectations and compliant with all AAAHC, OSHA and CMS guidelines. The clinic manager will be responsible for the management of multiple clinic sights.

     

    • Analyzes and staffs front office and back office staff to meet needs of health care professionals and patients efficiently and courteously. • Selects and hires employees according to established guidelines. Monitors, coaches, develop and evaluate performance of staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with applicable performance standards. • Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure personnel policy development and communication to staff to achieve consistency in labor and employee relations. • Identifies and implements opportunities to build employee morale and individual motivation. • Develops strong inter-department teamwork to meet the needs of the patients and physicians and drive decision-making and other actions. • Responsible for assuring customer/patient service needs are met. Monitors patient service feedback and contributes to the process of resolving complaints and service issues. Plans and initiates process improvement and cost reduction opportunities. • Monitors patient flow and creates and maintains employee and allied health professionals’ schedules, maintains efficient FTE/patient ratio, investigates patient flow problems and develops solutions, encourages open communication with all associates, including physicians, coordinates technician daily assignments. Coordinates physician schedules with front desk staff. • Builds strong positive communication with physicians and works as a team to enhance the success of the practice. • Plans, evaluates, recommends and implements new initiatives when appropriate. • Responsible for profit and loss performance of assigned business unit. Participates in budget creation and expense management. • Works across organization in assisting with area of expertise; i.e. nursing, medical records, quality assurance. Serves as role model for all staff. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, employees, other managers, and physicians. Supports a positive image of TDC inside and outside the organization. • Responsible for OSHA and other regulatory training and compliance. Coordinates cleanliness, orderliness and safety of working environment. • Ensures all physician standing orders are up to date and accurate, communicates changes to the surgical staff, completes monthly chart audits ensuring Medicare compliance, reviews patient survey assessments, oversees and improves clinical processes assuring best reliable procedures are used and according to AAAHC guidelines and develops methods to measure productivity, e.g., time studies. Will assist the Department Administrator with the creation and development of all annual reports. • Ensures all clinics operate under the guidelines of the clinic and in agreement with regulatory policies and procedures. • Proactively identifies opportunities to expand revenue sources and ancillary services and reduce expenses. • Establishes and maintains a positive and safe work environment. Oversees equipment maintenance following all manufacturer guidelines and according to company policy. Ensures all equipment is in proper working condition and annual preventative maintenance is being performed. • Monitors inventory control processes and supervises personnel using a cost-effective approach ensuring the clinic and surgical suite is adequately supplied with all necessary pharmaceuticals, samples and general supplies. Evaluates operational needs of materials and equipment to deliver quality health care services. • Represents the department on internal and external committees. • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Must be able to originate and develop new methods of completing tasks assignments. • Must possess good oral and written communication skills. • Must be able to handle confidential data. • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and physicians. • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. • Understanding of practice management and eCW software within 90 days of continuous employment. • Must have a “team minded” approach. • Leadership ability with strong motivational skills. • Has a working knowledge of all clinical testing and assisting techniques. Assists with quality of care services provided to patients by the clinical staff.

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university required. • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred. • Four years of progressive experience managing a clinic required. • MBA or MHA preferred.
