  • Responsibilities

    The Physician primary activity will be to perform COVID testing of patients at one of the Nashville community at COVID testing sites, with our mobile unit. The physician serve as a clinical site lead and supervise other clinical personnel who staff the clinical checkpoint at the testing site.

     

    • Demonstrate clinical expertise in assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and the therapeutic management of patients. • Perform COVID testing in the community at sites run by Meharry, and for patients at MMG clinics. Use research and theoretical principles in implementing therapies that restore health, minimize complications, and manage risk factors; as we strive to integrate patient care across the continuum of health care services in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, families, and patients. • Supervision of quality management and performance improvement and assistance in data management as needed. • Supervise nurses, medical assistants and patient service representatives (PSR) who will be assisting with COVID testing, monitoring of inventory, and coordination of testing activities.

    Required Experience

    • Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
    • License to practice Medicine in the state of Tennessee.
    • Current provider in Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • Eligible to prescribe medication in the State of Tennessee
    • At least 1 year of experience providing care to a family medicine patient population is preferred
    • The knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate for an outpatient family medicine patient population.
    • Knowledge of Medical Spanish is preferred, but not required
