    CONTRACT: Permanent full time

WHERE: Auckland / Hamilton / Wellington

    WE’RE ALL ABOUT ENDLESS POTENTIAL…

We’re the team in charge of empowering New Zealand’s digital future. A future few can imagine. It started with the roll-out of our once in a hundred year network. But there’s much more to come as we keep pushing what’s possible, providing unlimited access to an ever-evolving range of innovative products and services. Technology that’ll support, inspire and connect people and businesses for generations.

To that end, we need more curious, collaborative and forward-thinking people. Because while we’re busy improving our national network, we’ll need more of the best to join our truly inclusive workforce, one where you’ll be made to feel you belong, and that everything you do is valued (because you do, and it is).

As for our culture. Our people say it’s one of the best around. We’re proud of that. And with our Chorus Care package benefits behind you too, you’ll have everything you need to seize this opportunity and make it your own.

    WORK YOUR WAY.

9-5 not working for you? That’s ok. We encourage you to find ways to work flexibly. If it suits your circumstances and delivers great outcomes for Chorus – that’s when you know you’ve found the Flex@Chorus Sweet Spot!

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Senior Solution Architect in our Technology Strategy & Architecture team, you’ll be responsible for architecting end-to-end technology solutions for initiatives that support the heart of Chorus’ business – our Customer and Network Operations functions like service assurance, asset management and fieldwork. You’ll also lead the detailed design for each feature, to facilitate implementation by our platform development teams.

Day to day you’ll be working with business strategic and operational stakeholders, your agile squad including business analyst and test specialist, along with the programme architect, principal domain architects, and platform devOps teams. You’ll help us stay away from technology dead ends, by identifying architecture choices and writing up recommendations that balance business requirements, delivery imperatives and constraints, and architecture standards and roadmaps.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

We’re looking for an experienced architect who can get up to speed with our IT landscape, our business context and our ways of working pretty quickly.

    • You’ll have 10+ years designing solutions in large scale technology environments, and be tertiary qualified in business, technology, engineering, applied science or computing.
    • You’ll bring an understanding of APIs and IDAM, along with application performance and security considerations in a mixed cloud/on-prem environment – ideally in the context of product/service/asset inventory systems, incident/problem management and work management solutions.
    • The role is delivery orientated so you’ll need to be pragmatic and output-focused while also acting as a strong advocate for architecture concerns.
    • As you’ll be operating as part of a scaled agile programme squad, familiarity with agile principles and ways of working would be handy – but either way, a growth mindset and collaborative approach are essential.
    • You’ll need good communication skills, with an ability to present complex technology concepts, opportunities and challenges to stakeholders in ways that they understand.
