    Wet Glue Operator | 2nd & 3rd Shift | Roselawn, OH

    The Offset Wet Glue Operator is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities of the pressroom in producing quality reproductions and to perform highly-skilled production involving operation of various types of offset presses and related equipment. This is not an entry level position , experience working specifically with adhesives and/or mass printing presses is required. Please read full description.

    Responsibilities:

    • Overall responsibility of the operation of the press. Heidelberg CD
    • Supervision of the press helper to assign duties such as: cleaning, paper levels, ink levels and additional duties.
    • Makes ready and operates sheet-fed offset printing press to print single and multicolor copy from lithographic plates.
    • Measures the plate thickness and inserts packing sheets on plate cylinder to build up plate to printing height and installs and locks plate into position, using handtools, to achieve pressure required for printing.
    • Measures the paper thickness and adjusts space between blanket and impression cylinders according to thickness of paper stock.
    • Starts press, examines printed copy for ink density, position on paper, and registration, and makes adjustments to press throughout production run to maintain specific registration and color density.
    • Removes and cleans plate and cylinders.
    • Monitors the production during run quality, maintaining all required samples.
    • Must work well with others in a team environment.
    • Recording of time and production for job costing.
    • Ability to meet daily production standards.
    • Performs all required preventative maintenance in accordance to production schedule.
    • Maintains a clean and organized work area and press.
    • Observe company work rules and safety regulations.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years operating an offset press machine or similar
    • Basic math skills – ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Basic reading skills – ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information and procedures.
    • Be able to pass color blindness test and have good judgment of color.
    • Dexterity of hands.
    • Good computer skills.
    • Reasoning ability.
    • Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
    • Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime as needed.

    Schedule:

    Second - 2:30pm-10:00pm

    Third - 10pm-6am

    Pay:

    $20-25/hr based on related experience
