Job Description

We are seeking a qualified current undergraduate or graduate student to intern remotely at What Detox. Interns will learn how to successfully operate an online business focusing on nutrition and body detoxification.

The internship is unpaid. Students are often able to arrange academic credit, as What Detox internships offer:

• A three-month long hands-on learning experience in running an online affiliate business in the nutrition industry.
• Full access to all areas of the business. This will allow interns to determine for themselves which of the following rotational assignments is a best fit, making the decision for a future career path that much easier:
  • Content Strategy & Production
  • Finance
  • HR
  • Website Management
  • Website Marketing
• Full support in learning and applying knowledge from a mentor. Interns will work with their mentors via Skype. There will be a welcome meeting when the intern/mentor relationship begins. Two weeks later there will be an initial intern and program evaluation meeting to set expectations and clarify potential questions. Six weeks into the program (about halfway through), there will be a second evaluation meeting and the final evaluation meeting will occur at the end of the program cycle. Outside of the four live meetings with a mentor, interns will collaborate with their mentors via email, and additional Skype calls as required.
• Job search guidance from an experienced HR professional. Upon internship program completion, each graduate will explore career options and receive feedback on resume and interview skills.

Interns will be responsible for watching educational videos and submitting follow-up assignments in addition to receiving training on working at a remote-only company.

Weekly mock assignments will be evaluated and interns will work with their mentors to develop a competency improvement plan.

Assignments will range from creating and/or editing content, creating a sample editorial calendar, analyzing website analytics data to determine best content strategies, creating a sample back link strategy, creating a sample budget, all the way to reviewing scholarship applications and everything in between.

Applicants studying nutrition or internet marketing will be preferred.
