HOOTS IS A PROGRAM OF WHITE BIRD CLINIC, A SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY PROVIDING CRISIS INTERVENTION, MEDICAL, DENTAL AND MENTAL HEALTH CARE, DRUG AND ALCOHOL TREATMENT, AND CASE MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO THE EUGENE/SPRINGFIELD COMMUNITY. HOOTS IS A SISTER PROGRAM OF WHITE BIRD’S MOBILE CRISIS INTERVENTION PROGRAM CAHOOTS.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Support the growth of QMHA eligible HOOTS crisis workers with clinical supervision, education, and thoughtful consultation.
RESPONSIBILITY:
- Provide individual supervision on both scheduled and as-needed basis.
- Review clinical files, provide support and guidance to HOOTS crisis workers as needed.
- Stay up to date on local resources that serve youth and staff development.
- Seek out alternative learning opportunities and share opportunities for staff to learn from experts in fields of work that pertain to HOOTS.
- Continue to learn and share evidence based and peer reviewed practices and other information in an ongoing manner.
- Organize ongoing trainings and refreshers on mandatory reporting, suicide risk assessment and ethical competency.
- Be available to shift workers who seek consultation in the field or coordinate support to be made available on shift.
- Provide records as requested to lawyers and detectives who have judge-ordered subpoenas, and DHS/CPS investigators with open cases.
- Supply access to and support for the QMHA process through MHACBO for all crisis workers. Provide opportunities for crisis workers to access education that directly applies to field work and equitable, anti-racist practices with a minimum of 20 CEU's per year, utilizing supervision to learn from crisis workers what is needed.
- Provide spaces dedicated to debriefing field work and evaluating documentation pertaining to suicide risk and assessment.
- Shadow at least 4 clinics per year to understand crisis work and the operational aspects of how HOOTS engages in schools.
- Other duties as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- QMHP eligible (including background check) – Master’s or PhD in counseling or related mental health field.
- Experience counseling individuals and groups.
- Experience and credential (or eligible) for providing clinical supervision.
- Experience working with youth on a wide variety of clinical and social issues.
