    Job Description Summary:

    Provides administrative and operational support to the Procurement Services Department. Works independently with minimal supervision, and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

    CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES

    • Place and process laboratory supply and general supply orders with Whitehead Institute suppliers using supplier’s websites and other options.
    • Update information in Workday financial system.
    • Notify requesters if items are on back order via email if the item (s) are not available elsewhere.
    • Expedite late deliveries. Update requesters when items are scheduled to ship.
    • Provides administrative and operational support to the Procurement Services Staff & Procurement Director as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BS/BA preferred
    • 1-2 years of relevant experience (hospital, educational or science setting preferred but not required)
    • Experience expediting late orders
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects and set and meet deadlines is required
    • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision once trained, and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
    • Strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to communicate with people at all levels within the Institute is required
    • Excellent computer skills including Gmail email & Excel
    • Experience with Workday/Jaggaer or another ERP system a plus
