Job Overview:
The Corporate Controller - Income Tax Specialist will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the company's financial and tax-related functions. This position requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of US GAAP and Tax regulations, as well as a comprehensive grasp of consolidation accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in efficiently tracking and managing 704 B capital accounts, state income tax allocations, Estate and Trust specific tax planning and rules.
Responsibilities:
Accounting:
1. Lead and oversee the consolidation accounting process for financial reporting and tax purposes.
2. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and Tax regulations in all consolidation activities.
3. Income Tax Planning and Compliance:
a. Develop and implement effective income tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
b. Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
c. Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely filing of all required tax returns.
4. 704 B Capital Accounts:
a. Take ownership of tracking and maintaining 704 B capital accounts in accordance with industry standards.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and reporting of capital transactions.
6. Financial Reporting:
a. Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
b. Provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making processes.
7. Internal Controls:
a. Establish and maintain robust internal controls related to income tax and consolidation accounting.
b. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification required.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on income tax and consolidation accounting.
· Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and Tax regulations.
· Strong understanding of 704 B capital accounts and related tracking processes.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
· Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
