Supervises: Value Stream Teams – Manufacturing teams (may vary by location)
SUMMARY: The Value Steam Leader is responsible for the coaching, developing and leading of the production team.
The Value Stream Leader will oversee & present a clear and defined direction to the production team, drive production goals, and set training priority to maximize value and satisfaction to our customers. The Value Stream Leader will provide day-to-day direction to the Value Stream Team consisting of representation from Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Management and Maintenance, to ensure production and quality goals are achieved. The ideal candidate has multi-year experience in a lean manufacturing environment, leading teams, strong communicator, is able to multi-task, meet ambitious targets and goals, and lead execution towards fast results.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain World Class Lead-times by applying lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
- Continuous development of Lean Manufacturing Methodology (Lead 5S improvements, Visual Factory Improvements, and Changeover/Setup Reductions)
- Maintain Continuous Improvement mindset within the production teams, running Kaizen events
- Oversee department training plan, progress, and cross training efforts to increase flexibility and ensure 100% coverage of all Value Stream processes
- Align the production team to meet key metrics on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost
- Highlight critical issues of value stream to the Plant Team and champion to resolution
- Ensure exceptional quality and exceed customer expectations through active involvement with the team and urgent action when required
- Maintain team engagement and team morale
- Develop concepts, implement, and continuously improve the shop floor in collaboration with other Value Steam, EHS, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and Materials Management leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree or High School diploma with relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading a team.
- Understanding of medical device assembly procedures and work instructions.
- Continuous improvement/Lean Manufacturing experience.
- Strong communication skills – verbal and nonverbal.
- Ability to delegate and work effectively through your team members.
- Problem solving skills – 5 Why, A3, Taguchi

- Experience in leading a team in a fast paced, hands on manufacturing environments.
