    CYBER SECURITY ANALYST (HYBRID)

    Hartford, CT

    MEANINGFUL WORK

    This position is responsible for performing detailed cyber security-related assessments and investigations for clients throughout all industries, with a focus on the small to medium-sized business market. This position will report directly to the IT Security Manager and will have no direct reports. You will be expected to have a solid technical foundation and excellent communication skills. The responsibilities of this position include the following (but not limited to):

    • Conducting vulnerability assessments using business industry tools and proprietary techniques in conjunction with common security frameworks
    • Responding to breaches by identifying causality, exposure, and impact and assist in remediation
    • Correlating results from IT assessments/investigations into useful recommendations based on best business practices and regulatory standards
    • Maintaining a professional image while working directly with clients, management, technical staff, and attorneys
    • Managing multiple tasks in an efficient manner with minimal supervision

    PREFERRED

    • AS, BA,or BS degree in MIS, Computer Science, Digital Forensics, or Cybersecurity or equivalent years of experience
    • Experience with running Vulnerability Assessments
    • Experience with computer forensics and electronic discovery
    • Knowledge of Windows, Macintosh, Linux
    • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects
    • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange
    • Experience with basic network and hardware/software architecture
    • Knowledge of NIST and COBIT frameworks
    • Ability to translate technical terminology into practical terms for both management and clients
    • Strong technical verbal communication and writing skills
    • Previously held roles in IT Security or network engineer/systems engineer

    ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES/CERTIFICATIONS:

    • GIAC certifications (GCFE/GCFA/GREM/GNFA/GASF/GCTI)
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Auditor or Assessor
    • Experience with federal regulations such as HIPAA, SEC, FFIEC, GLBA, CMMC, DFARS/ITAR
    • Experience in performing Penetration Testing
    • Experience and knowledge of creating or implementing an Information Security Program
    • Comfortable speaking at security-related conferences and panels

    LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Work remotely
    • Required travel to clients (10-20% of the week) within the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts vicinity
    • Must live within a 90-mile radius of Hartford, CT
