    *Please note that this is a Flexible, Part-Time, Work-From-Home, Volunteer opportunity (10-15 hours/week commitment). 

    Are you interested in learning the ins and outs of a nonprofit organization in a challenging and rewarding environment? The nonprofit news organization WhoWhatWhy is seeking a Recruitment Researcher to help us lead our sourcing efforts in hiring world-class Editorial talent.

A nonprofit that accepts no advertising, we are staffed largely with skilled volunteers dedicated to elevating public awareness and fostering a more vigorous democracy.   

     

    Responsibilities 

    We are looking for a Recruitment Researcher to join the very busy Editorial Recruiting Team. The successful Volunteer will help create recruitment research strategies, build candidate pipelines, and conduct internet research to identify passive candidates to fill critical editorial positions. You will partner with recruiters and HR to share market insights, make talent recommendations, and support the overall recruitment efforts. You will use your resourcefulness and creativity to attract Volunteers from around the country and the world to join WhoWhatWhy.  

    Additional responsibilities include the following:

    • Partner with HR Business Partners and Recruiting Team to identify the current talent needs of the Editorial group
    • Proactively source passive candidates in order to create talent pipelines in anticipation of future editorial talent needs
    • Work alongside the Recruiters to support the overall recruitment process
    • Build relationships across the Editorial Department at all levels to gain a better understanding of the current and future talent needs of the group
    • Stay abreast of recruiting trends and best practices to implement and share with HR Business Partners and Recruiters

     

    Required Qualifications 

    • 2+ years of professional recruitment research experience in the media industry or related field
    • 2+ years experience working with applicant tracking systems

     

     

    Desired Qualifications 

    • Prior experience as a recruiter or sourcer for editorial roles or within an editorial organization
    • Proven ability to ideate and implement creative and strategic talent sourcing techniques and pipelining initiatives
    • Proven ability to quickly build relationships with hiring managers, colleagues, and candidates to meet hiring objectives
    • Ability to think creatively and be resourceful in a scrappy environment
    • Excellent organization, prioritization, and presentation skills
    • Exceptional ability in written and verbal communication with all levels
    • Experience with JazzHR and G-Suite a plus (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Gmail)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field

    Expectations 

    All Volunteers work remotely and on your own schedule, as we believe remote work is essential to cultivate a productive and happy culture. We also require a minimum commitment of 10-15 hours/ week, though doing more is not discouraged!  Because our Volunteers are spread throughout the world, we communicate mostly through Slack and email, and team members are requested to be responsive in a timely manner. All Volunteers are asked to respond to emails on a daily basis.
