    INDUSTRIAL & MUNICIPAL PUMP EQUIPMENT OUTSIDE TECHNICAL SALES

    Wholesale Pump & Supply, Inc (WPS) has been in the pump and supply business for 63 years and we are growing. WPS is an industry leader in the distribution of groundwater, wastewater, municipal, commercial, and industrial pumping equipment and related supplies. WPS currently has nine branches located throughout Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Wholesale Pump & Supply, Inc. (Hot Springs, AR branch) is seeking an outside sales representative with a background in the municipal / industrial freshwater and wastewater pumps, controls, lift stations, booster pack, and water systems supply market. Ideal candidates would possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong mechanical aptitude and can excel while managing a variety customer types. Must be willing to travel around central, northeast, northwest Arkansas, southern Missouri, and eastern Oklahoma. Candidate must be a self-motivator and work without too much oversight.

    EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

    Ø Municipal and industrial water pump system knowledge is a plus.

    Ø Minimum 2 years of sales experience in the water well, groundwater, industrial, commercial or municipal water or wastewater pump market. Industrial and municipal sales experience will also be considered.

    Ø Programming and troubleshooting of Yaskawa or similar VFD drives is a plus.

    Ø Commercial plumbing/piping products knowledge is a plus.

    Ø Ability to perform several mathematical calculations.

    Ø A working knowledge of basic electrical theory and ability to use a multimeter with all functions.

    Ø Strong understanding of pumping solutions and pump curves.

    Ø Knowledge of our product lines is a plus but not required.

    Ø Candidate must be open minded, be able to use critical thinking skill to solve technical problems, and utilize problem solving strategies with difficult customers or situations. Candidate must have good time management and organizational skills. Candidate must have good communication skills and a willingness to build rapport with customers and office personnel.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Ø Develop a sales territory in central and northern Arkansas working with municipalities, industrial companies, mechanical / project engineers, and mechanical contractors.

    Ø Build strong working relationships with clients and assist them with WPS products for their applications.

    Ø Generate sales leads by cold calling and follow up on all sales leads.

    Ø Responsible for timely accurate sales performance reports to the sales manager.

    Ø Ensure all customers are given manufacturer training opportunities.

    Ø Provide on-site startups, on-site troubleshooting, and understand pump sizing and system application particular to each job.

    Ø This ideal candidate is motivated to meet new customers and help solve their pump performance problems daily.

    Ø Must have good customer service skills, must be able to operate with minimal supervision, and communicate efficiently and effectively with clients and WPS personnel.

    Ø Work with sales manager to create sales plans for the assigned territory and method to execute plan.

    Ø Should be proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    Ø Become proficient with the WPS computer systems Epicor Prelude and PHOCAS.

    Ø A clean and valid driver’s license is required.

    Ø Must be able to pass a random drug test.

    Ø Position is a traveling type outside sales position and will require travel greater than 60% of the time including some overnights.

     

    SALARY & BENEFITS

    This position has a base salary with commission. The chosen candidate will be issued a company truck (for work use only), cell phone, laptop, and company credit card. Position includes health insurance, 401K, and profit sharing.
