    POSITION SUMMARY

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all kinds
      • Utilize diagnostic equipment to test and repair electrical systems
      • Troubleshoot, test, repair, replace, remove, and install vessel systems and components
      • Conduct thorough assessment prior to starting a job including acknowledging the budgeted time and time frame for completion, repairing the system and the element requiring service, sourcing parts if required
      • Utilize NMEA 200 and other protocols on vessel operating systems
      • Assign parts and purchases to the appropriate work orders

      TECHNICAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

      • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
      • Overall knowledge of marine systems including electrical, plumbing & water systems
      • 2-5 years’ experience preferred
      • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
      • Ability to work in confined spaces
      • Ability to lift 50 pounds
      • Basic boat handling skills preferred
      • Must possess own tools
      • Availability to work overtime in order to meet deadlines
      • Reading – Has the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and understand very complex material (technical reports, equipment specifications)
      • Mathematical – Basic math and metric system knowledge is required
      • Writing – Required writing to explain or describe information
      • Planning/Organizing – Performs activities planned by others
      • Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management direction; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
      • Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and material properly
