    Our client’s field service engineering division provides exceptional customer service in the areas of field rework, repair, installation, troubleshooting, start-up, and retrofitting of equipment for heavy shipboard machinery.

After 162 years, their approximately 475 employees are still primarily in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Northern Wisconsin, where they have 3 manufacturing facilities and a world-class tech center.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

    • Provide exceptional customer service as defined by the customer
    • Solicit aftermarket opportunities on behalf of the client, working closely with Program Managers
    • Determine root cause of field equipment failures and provide recommended corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
    • Coordinate actions required by other functional departments listed above to complete field warranty and service work promptly
    • Perform most practical and economical rework and repairs to customer’s satisfaction
    • Perform field warranty and field service installation, repair, and start-up at customer site
    • Assure the validity of customer warranty claims and determine responsibility
    • Provide electronic condition found reports and field reports, which serve as objective evidence of customer satisfaction
    • Travel as required
    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in US Navy shipbuilding and heavy manufacturing is ideal.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication and customer service skills are essential.
    • 5 years “hands-on” experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
    • Good communication skills and willingness to travel are a must.

    • Physical Requirements: Lift and/or require up to 50 pounds.
