    Job overview

    The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is responsible for overseeing the planning and management of the overall sales, marketing, catering and revenue management efforts for the portfolio. The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is responsible for assisting the Directors of Sales & Marketing, Sales Managers and General Managers with short/long term planning and day to day operations of the hotel’s sales & marketing department. The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is also responsible for supporting the tactical planning, project assignments and execution of sales, marketing, public relations and e-commerce distribution. Provides regular oversight of all top-line revenue activities including, but not limited to forecasting, pricing, eCommerce, market share penetration, advertising and marketing. The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is required to adhere to the mission and values of Widewaters Hotels, LLC.

    What you will be doing

    Oversee all property level sales teams and assist in achieving individual as well as team solicitation and booking goals.

    Serve as a leader within the industry and maintains knowledge of industry trends and translates to affect within the organization.

    Ensure the execution of Sales and Marketing plans.

    Participate as part of the management team in setting organizational goals, strategies, forecasting, reporting and measurement for the company.

    Develop team and financial requirement forecasts for the Sales and Marketing department. Consolidates projections into operating and capital expenditure budgets.

    Assist the property Director of Sales with providing property Sales Managers coaching, training & mentoring on specialty markets & key strategic accounts.

    Work cross functionally across the organization to develop a winning marketing plan and go-to-market strategy for new and existing product lines, helping all to understand product positioning, key benefits, and target client needs

    Communicate newly acquired accounts to property Director of Sales to formulate action plans.

    Proactively develops goals and objectives to support the properties.

    Oversee the coordination of Group Transient and Catering booking to maximize profits.

    Develop hotel-level tactical sales and marketing plans to support overall system-wide sales plans/strategies and programs.

    Train on Sales Standards and Brand Standards if branded.

    Develop and maintains good relationships with officials and representatives of local community groups and companies, and attends out-of-town conventions to generate convention and group business

    Assist Director of Sales in the development and update of the hotel-level business plan to include input on sales goals and plans that support the overall business and sales strategies of the company.

    Recruit, train and hire property level Director of Sales & Marketing personnel. Develops overall plan for staffing needs to meet sales and marketing activities envisioned in the company’s strategic and operational plans.

    Oversee negotiated contracts with customers and commission agreements with third party agencies. Initiate the preparation of proposals and/or contracts to advise prospective customers primarily of the hotel guest rooms, but also meeting space and/or banquet date, space and rate availability.

    Maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the Company’s reach within its current customer base.

    Support catering sales or other outlets as needed.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred; and at least 3 years of senior sales experience in hospitality preferred.

    Must possess a thorough knowledge of the hospitality industry, have a strong sales and marketing background, sound administrative skills, and well developed management skills
