Wiegel Tool Works is located in Wood Dale, IL, and provides metal stamping services such as high-speed stamping, heavy metal stamping, engineering support, in-house tool making, rapid prototype, waterjet cutting and automated assembly of parts. Operating on 145,000 sq-ft in 3 manufacturing facilities, we use the latest in metal stamping equipment and quality assurance technology.
The successful candidate will have a strong metrology background as a quality inspector with some OGP/CMM programming and technical experience in the metal stamping industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspection:
Responsible for full piece layouts and in process checks.
Responsible for Creating OGP & ZEISS programs
Complete Capability Studies and GR&R
General Duties:
Program and operate the OGP & ZEISS CMM
Create OGP & ZEISS Inspection programs
Complete Capability studies and GR&R
Assistant Quality Manager in updating quality documents (PPAP, Control plan and FMEA), procedures and forms.
Minimum Skills & Abilities:
Understand statistical process control (SPC).
Read and understand Blue Prints, Piece Prints and GDT.
Understand OGP or ZEISS programs.
Understand and use a variety of measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, comparators, vision system, (etc.)
Math abilities including addition, subtraction, use of fractions, decimals and conversion of metric to inches
Good communication skills including the ability to receive oral/written instruction and relay quality issues to others.
Has basic understanding of Microsoft Office.
Understands what PPAP is and documents.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
20/40 vision required with or without correction to visually inspect parts, identify defects and complete paperwork.
Use of hands 100% of the workday to handle and package product.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally during the workday to move product
Ability to stand or walk 75% of the workday to move from machine to quality office with product.
Twisting, bending, leaning and stooping frequently during the workday.
Ability to work in a shop environment – continuous exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents and oils.
