SERVER JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Server
REPORTS TO: Service Manager
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: The primary objective of a server is to guide guests through an exceptional dining experience by making suggestions tailored to guests individual needs, taking and sending their orders to the kitchen or bar, delivering their items in a timely fashion, and checking back to ensure that everything is perfect.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greeting guests at tables in a friendly and professional manner
Describing all current specials with each table
Use suggestive selling techniques to create better experiences and better check averages
Use safe alcohol service practices to ensure no one becomes overly intoxicated
Taking orders and using Breadcrumb POS to send orders to proper station
Completing satisfaction checkbacks at every course
Prebussing between each course
Taking payments, closing checks using POS, and cash handling
Assisting in bussing, resetting tables, and keeping the dining room clean
Communicate with fellow staff and managers
Assisting in answering phones & taking carryout orders
Completing running sidework, restock, and duration duties
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
Servsafe Alcohol or TIPS certification

Ability to Remain Calm, Friendly, & Enthusiastic Under Pressure
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have reliable means of transportation
At least 1 year previous serving experience in a high volume, full service restaurant
Must have the ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours per shift
Ability to lift heavy objects may be involved occasionally
