We are seeking a proactive entry-level Wildfire Prevention Specialist to join out dedicated team. This role will focus on mobilizing to areas within Southern California during critical wildfire weather events and implement preventative measures assisting team supervisor with response strategies for clients in high-risk areas. This includes applying long term retardant products to homes and property landscape, taking field weather data, and field monitoring for wildfires. This position is a "call when needed" part-time/seasonal opportunity.
All responsibilities are supervised and mentored by a Senior Field Specialist.
Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of properties and landscape to identify wildfire risks and vulnerabilities. Prevention Planning: Develop and implement wildfire prevention strategies, including defensible space recommendations and vegetation management plans. Education and Outreach: Provide training and resources to clients and community members about wildfire prevention, safety practices, and preparedness. Collaboration: Work closely with fire departments, emergency management agencies, and insurance representatives to ensure coordinated efforts in wildfire prevention and response. Monitoring and Reporting: Utilize technology and data analytics to monitor live fuel moisture levels and other risk indicators; prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders. Emergency Response Support: Assist in the development and execution of response plans, including evacuation protocols and resource allocation during wildfire incidents. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of current wildfire research, policies, and best practices; participate in ongoing professional development.
