Wildlife Exclusion Technician (Physical / Skilled Trade / Career Track)
Jacksonville, FL Coastal Wildlife & Pest Services
This is not a typical pest control job.
If you want easy work, air conditioning, or to “give it a try and see,” stop reading now. This role is for someone who wants a real, hands-on trade, takes pride in hard work, and is looking for a long-term career with advancement, not a temporary paycheck.
The Reality of This Job (Read This Carefully)
You will:
Climb roofs in the Florida summer heat
Work in attics and crawl spaces
Carry materials, tools, and equipment
Use ladders daily
Perform detailed exclusion and light construction work
Get dirty, sweaty, and tired — and still do quality work
This job is physically demanding. It is uncomfortable at times. And it is not for everyone.
But for the right person, it is incredibly rewarding.
Who This Job Is For
This role is a great fit if you:
Enjoy working with your hands and solving real problems
Like seeing clear results from your work at the end of the day
Take pride in doing difficult work the right way
Want to build a career, not bounce between jobs
Are dependable, coachable, and mentally tough
Prefer working in the field rather than behind a desk
You do not need prior wildlife experience. You do need the right attitude, work ethic, and physical capability.
We can teach skills. We cannot teach grit.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Wildlife Exclusion Technician, you’ll focus on permanent solutions, not quick fixes.
Your responsibilities include:
Inspecting homes and businesses for wildlife activity and structural entry points
Performing professional wildlife exclusion work (roof returns, soffits, vents, crawl spaces, attics, etc.)
Using hand and power tools to seal and fortify structures
Setting and removing wildlife traps as needed
Educating homeowners on what was done and how to prevent future issues
Following a structured daily schedule prepared by our office
Communicating job updates clearly through our systems
Participating in a rotating on-call schedule (typically one weekend per month)
Most days you’ll work independently, but you’re never on an island — our team supports you.
Physical & Practical Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
To be successful in this role, you must:
Be comfortable working on roofs, ladders, in attics, and crawl spaces
Be able to lift and carry 50+ lbs repeatedly
Work safely in heat, humidity, and confined spaces
Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Follow safety procedures and company standards consistently
Communicate professionally with customers and teammates
If any of the above is a dealbreaker, this is not the right role — and that’s okay.
Pay, Benefits & Growth
We take care of people who take care of the job.
What we offer:
Competitive pay based on experience and performance
Company vehicle, cell phone, and most tools provided
Health insurance reimbursement up to $200/month after 6 months
Paid holidays and vacation time
Performance incentives and bonuses (including 5-star review bonuses)
Extra income opportunities through emergency calls and weekend pickups
Ongoing paid training and skill development
Clear advancement paths into Senior Technician, Lead Technician, and Leadership roles
Quarterly team outings and events
This company is growing. People who perform well and want more responsibility move up.
