POSITION PURPOSE

The Bariatric Surgery Coordinator will coordinate and supervise all aspects of the Bariatric Program, including but not limited to: patient education, patient support group meetings, staff education, and coordination of patients' surgery with hospital and physician office. This position reports directly to the Clinical Director of Bariatric.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program; preferred to have certification in Bariatric Surgery as offered by the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons desirable or prior experience working with surgical and bariatric patients.

Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes

Desirable characteristics include at least five (5) years of experience as a nurse, preferably in the area of application.

Licenses/Certificates:

Must possess current PA license as a Registered Nurse. Must obtain and maintain a current certification in BLS and must be complete prior to end of orientation period The Bariatric Surgery Coordinator will be an active Affiliate Member of ASBS.
