POSITION PURPOSE

The Cardiovascular Technician works in Cardio-Vascular Institute performing all types of Stress Testing. The position also

encompasses the performance of routine EKGs on customers ranging in age from infant to the aged, as well as the

processing of EKGs performed by the Cardiovascular Laboratory and other departments in the hospital. This technician

finalizes EKG reports for the cardiologist and assigns billing information to the EKG. Application of Holter Monitors on

inpatients and outpatients.

Performance of other related duties incidental to the work described within.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Accredited technical training course certificate and/or technical experience of one (1) to two (2) years preferred but not

mandatory

Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes

One (1) to five (5) years EKG experience; Must possess communication/writing/interpersonal skills. Communication skills,

typing and dictation, mechanically inclined, Public Relations aptitude, teach/explain/instruct; clerical accuracy, BLS.

Licenses/Certificates:

BLS Certification required and must be completed prior to end of orientation period
