Willdan Engineering is seeking to fill two paid summer intern positions to be stationed in our Elk Grove CA office. Responsibilities: * Under direction of the operations and maintenance manager, you will perform a variety of basic maintenance and engineering support assignments that require some knowledge of engineering standards, practices, and techniques. * You will utilize a workstation to develop databases, spreadsheets and reports based on information collected during inspections and surveys citywide in a number of different categories. * You will be asked to review technical manuals to become familiar with industry codes, regulatory standards and company policies. * Assignments are designed to help you develop a practical knowledge of the maintenance and operations discipline. * Keep current with code changes and developments in the profession Qualifications: * Prefer to be enrolled in an engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university and have completed at least one year of studies in engineering discipline. * Proficient with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel, and familiar with other computer software to compile data and conduct analysis * Requires a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers * Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and calculate figures and amounts such as: percentages, area, circumference, and volume * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. * Valid drivers license required EEO Non-Discrimination and ADA Reasonable Accommodation Statement: Applicants are considered for all positions without regard to race, color, creed, religion, age, national origin, alienage or citizenship status, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or partnership status, disability, military status, veteran status, pregnancy or predisposing genetic characteristics.
