    JOB LISTING: COORDINATOR FINANCIAL REPORTING

    We are seeking an experienced financial reporting professional, who will focus on providing business-focused advice in an exciting, emerging industry. The Coordinator, Financial Reporting assists in the preparation of the company’s financial reporting, including consolidated financial statements and management discussion and analysis (MD&A); ensuring that company procedures conform to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and are prepared for filing on both SEDAR (OSC) and EDGAR (SEC). Responsible for researching, developing, and documenting technical accounting memos; and play an active role in the internal control structure. Preference will be given to applicants who are based in Calgary, Alberta.

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Preparation of financial statements and reports that meet all regulatory and accounting guidelines
    • Preparation of quarterly and annual management discussion and analysis (MD&A)
    • Provide advice and guidance on all technical accounting matters including research of IFRS
    • Implementation of new IFRS standards as applicable
    • Participate in the year-end audit and preparation of audited financial statements as well as the preparation and review of the quarterly financial statements
    • Execute internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures
    • Support new systems or project selections and implementation from a strategic finance and internal control perspective
    • Assistance with the statutory filings across the globe
    • Ensure Willow conforms with all regulatory guidance and internal policies and procedures
    • Assist with tax planning and transfer payment study for Canadian and US subsidiaries
    • Other duties as assigned

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • University degree in Business/Accounting
    • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required with Chartered Accountant (CA) focus
    • 5+ years of professional accounting experience including public practice and working in publicly traded companies
    • Big 4 experience definitely an asset
    • Experience working in publicly traded companies
    • Strong IFRS technical accounting skills as evidenced by excellent research and documentation skills supporting accounting positions
    • Experience in the biotechnology, life sciences or tech space would be an asset
    • Multi-currency consolidation experience an asset
    • Possesses a strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion
    • Demonstrated ability to be successful in a quickly evolving and rapid-paced organization; and
    • Sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and diplomacy
